The Life of a Plastic Bag

March 24, 2010

“What kind of giant monsters had lived here?” -08:43

Perhaps you could say that this brilliant short film, in some way, builds on the theme of today’s New Topograhics post. The portrayal of the urban condition, man’s colonization of the environment, the urbanization of the natural landscape…only this time seen through the eyes of a plastic bag, and the voice of Werner Herzog. And a layer of environmental commentary. Award-winning American director Ramin Bahran‘s latest oevre, only its culmination is disappointedly music-clippish, but every single of its 18 minutes that leads up to is delectably worth it. via Jason Kottke
