Gettorf’s Upside-down House Not the First
March 18, 2010

Carpenter Gerhard Mordhorst built this upside-down house as a tourist attraction for the Gettorf Zoo in Germany
They’re calling it the world’s first upside-down house, but–unfortunately–it’s not. No sense in doing an exhaustive survey here, but there’s defenitely a few precursors around… The question is, Why??? Well, while Polish businessman Daniel Czapiewski did it to make an artistic statement about the Communist era and the chaotic state of the world, others like Modhorst build them as bizarre tourist traps that adversely, just make people feel queasy.
