Space-Age Design from the Drexfiles
Last week we were super excited to have CG supervisor of Caprica, Doug Drexler himself, comment on our Vancouver as Caprica City post. The sci-fi guru and visual effects master of many Star Trek series, the recent Battlestar Galactica and others, gave us a kind shout out on his blog, aptly called the Drexfiles. I’ve handpicked some eyecandy from his files for your viewing pleasure, but make sure to stop by his page for more!
It’s obvious from his work that architecture plays a big part in his creative process, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that he is also the author of the The Venus Project renderings that we’ve seen time and again on architecture blogs everywhere. Thanks again Doug for giving us a chance to experience your intricately stunning worlds of battleships, space stations and futuristic cities from galaxies, far, far away… Enjoy!

And special thanks to all of you that came in from the Drexfiles to comment on our blog. Cheers!

Way-cool. Doug’s stuff rocks. eh. :)

The Drexfiles is highly recommended. It’s treasure trove of all things Trek as well as Dick Tracy, Steve Canyon and Doug’s make up career (he won an oscar for doing the make up on the Dick Tracy movie).
As someone who grew up with ‘Dan Dare, Pilot of the Future’ and early B&W tv shows in the UK, like ‘The Quatermass Experiment’ what I see today just blows me away – keep imagining guys (& gals). YOU are the future.
